International SPA Association (ISPA)
Objective
Transform an conference into the industry's "must attend" event
Story
IMG is a recognized leader in event promotion and awareness campaigns. Once a small event struggling with an identity crisis, the annual International SPA Association Conference & Expo has become the most respected event for spa professionals worldwide with support from IMG’s event professionals.
How?
IMG event experts are dedicated keeping the brand and message clear throughout the conference and expo, have perfected the ability to target the right audience and tailor all elements specifically to the ISPA members. Speakers, production elements, entertainment, meals and even signage
are all designed around the spa professional appeal. Exhibitors find the ISPA tradeshow to be crucial to their marketing strategies. Key elements to support exhibitors include keeping the non-member price to attend very high so that the business owners won’t find just anyone looking around at their products, and the event experts plan to make sure the ISPA members can get their hands on a lot of good information on their industry (such as the Global Consumer Study, which is available free to members but costs $800 USD to non-members). Adding value and making the members feel special are two elements vital to the success of the ISPA Annual Conference and Expo.
IMG Impact
Since IMG began management services for ISPA in 1998, the tradeshow at the annual conference has become a perennially sold-out, must-attend experience. Exhibitor revenue has grown 580 percent. Through a carefully managed messaging/brand development process, the conference now draws an average of 3,000 conference attendees -- even with this year’s challenging economy.

Receptive Services Association of America (RSAA)
Objective
Create revenue potential from a non-revenue-producing event
Story
IMG is a recognized leader in event promotion and awareness campaigns. When IMG Associations took over management of RSAA in 2008, we realized their membership meetings, held four times a year, were losing money when in fact, should be a revenue-producing event. IMG Association’s event experts looked for ways to create revenue, without increasing the attendance registration fee.
How?
Because the organization’s members are destination locations (hotels, attractions etc.), the event team approached members wanting an opportunity to promote their company for sponsorship of the member meetings. SeaWorld’s Port of Call in Orlando held the second membership meeting in March 2009. Tour Operators and RSAA members attended the networking opportunity and SeaWorld promoted a new mega-attraction to the targeted audience. IMG event experts created a win-win-win opportunity for the members, destination and RSAA.
IMG Impact
Since IMG took over management in October 2008, RSAA has held three membership meetings, averaging 160 attendees and generating revenue to support RSAA's bottom line.
