IMG Associations understands keeping member benefits strong and finding more value for the members are important aspects to not only attract new members, but also to retain current members. AVCA came to IMG looking to grow membership and to strengthen services and finances. IMG's expertise in both association management and dominant presence in sports marketing were highly appealing to the AVCA, and IMG Associations was able to deliver.
How?
The AVCA has benefitted from an IMG Associations’ core staff, as well as our shared Essential Services Group. Shared staff are charged with being extremely responsive to members, helping those constituents find value in being part of their professional association. These professionals responds to members, prospects and leaders promptly, eliminating any response time issues, as well as allowing the core AVCA staff to focus on efforts to move the organization forward such as recruiting new members to the association. Each member service professional has completed customer service and client-specific training. Each staffer takes a lead on one association but is fully trained on all association clients to ensure appropriate coverage even during busy times (conference, renewal season, etc.).
IMG Impact
When the AVCA moved from a stand-alone association to IMG Associations in 2006, the organization's membership had not seen growth in recent years. Loyal members counted on the AVCA as a readily available resource, but new benefits were needed to reach non-members. By developing a focused member service and outreach plan and implementing new concepts -- such as dynamic new website and online tools and new event strategies -- in just three years, IMG Associations helped the AVCA reached the highest membership and conference attendance levels in the AVCA's 25-year history.
