Client Case Study
Client
National Tour Association (NTA)

Objective
Create strategic partnerships between and promoting multiple organizations
Story
Founded in 1951, NTA is one of the oldest and most respected associations in the travel industry and serves a wide audience. In 2008, NTA and IMG developed a concept that would allow the association to provide enhanced support to niche audiences -- both within its membership and externally -- by partnering with smaller organizations that serve very specific audiences within the travel industry.
How?
Niche travel and tourism associations have an important role in meeting the needs for their audiences. Becoming a strategic partner with IMG and NTA allows these organizations to maintain their independence yet derive value by leveraging the "powered by NTA" mark and additional communication and partnership opportunities. These organization can also tap into IMG Associations' expert staff and existing NTA staff infrastructure and resources. The partnership can include marketing access to the nearly 3,000 tourism professionals that are NTA members, exposure to a larger industry audience though NTA’s public and media relations initiatives, and access to association professionals with significant depth and breadth of travel and tourism experience. Among the benefits to NTA are the goodwill and additional awareness created by the partnership.
IMG Impact
Since the creation of this initiative in 2008, two niche travel associations have partnered with NTA, creating added value for all parties. In fact, one partner association, the World Religious Travel Association, has extended the value of the partnership by co-locating their 2009 World Religious Travel Expo with NTA's Annual Convention.
