Story
The AVCA joined IMG Associations in 2006, after operating as a self-managed organization for 25 years. Membership revenues had become stagnant while overhead costs grew, hampering the board’s ability to tackle new projects. Shortly after joining IMG, the AVCA gained a completely redesigned website and upgraded technology it couldn’t afford as a stand-alone association.
How?
The AVCA's management agreement includes use of IMG's in-house technology team, which can be substantially less expensive than outsourcing to contractors. The association also benefitted from cost efficiencies and best pricing through IMG partnerships with key software vendors. Additionally, the AVCA saved by sharing the cost of other functions with other associations. As a result, the AVCA was able to afford technology and website enhancements it could not have previously afforded or supported.
IMG Impact
Through IMG’s in-house technology team and partnerships with software leaders, the AVCA website functionality was totally redesigned and custom applications were developed to enhance the value to site visitors and increase the usability and ease of navigation of the site for AVCA's members. The result: website traffic doubled. This substantially raised the visibility and secured the identify of the association, which in turn helped with membership, sponsorship and revenue growth.
