Q. How is IMG Associations organized to serve my association?
A. IMG Associations operates under a blended staffing model that provides high-touch, dedicated services at an affordable cost. Our structure is unique among association management companies, in that we do not share executive directors among association clients and utilize an unusually high ratio of “core” (assigned to one client) staff to shared staff (experts in functional areas such as accounting, data management, and website technology). Staffing is customized around the client’s needs and budgets, which results in cost efficiencies and superior service levels.
Q. What services does IMG Associations offer? Are services available a la carte?
A. IMG Associations offers full-service association management, project-specific support and consulting services. Our a la carte services are great add-ons to any association as it grows and needs more management support. Visit the "What We Do" section of this website to learn more.
Q. How does IMG Associations charge for services?
A. IMG Associations only employs the best people with the best work ethic, so we recognize that our staff members will spend all the hours they need to get the job done right. That’s why IMG charges our clients by the service, not by the hour. We base our fee quotes on the resources anticipated for the association. Our experience is that this method compares very favorably cost-wise for our clients, especially as compared to other management companies that bill by an hourly rate. To be crystal clear, our management fee covers staff salaries and benefits as well as regular overhead expenses (computer equipment, office furniture, utilities, etc.) needed to achieve the goals in our service plan. We do not impose “excess hours” fees or set an arbitrary limit on staff hours. We do not charge separate transition fees or conference management fees.
Q. Given the current economy, what can IMG Associations do to help my association?
A. Partnering with IMG as your association management partner can reduce overhead cost for the association and increase your services to members. In addition, IMG provides additional resources to reduce your association’s cost even more. IMG is a market leader in the “greening” of businesses and associations, employing an in-house expert on environmental issues and how organizations and venues can become more socially and environmentally responsible. Q. How are IMG Associations executive directors assigned to client associations?
A. From our experience, association leaders appreciate being part of the executive director selection process, so IMG Associations provides qualified candidates for our clients' consideration. To ensure immediate and continuous support, we assign our new clients an experienced staff member as the interim project manager, while selection of the executive director takes place.
